Scarce 1887 Northern Banking Company Limited £1 offered in our 18th February 2015 sale

The Northern Banking Company, a predecessor of the present day Northern Bank came into existence in 1824 as a joint stock bank, becoming the Northern Banking Company Limited in 1883. Northern Banking Company banknotes are hardly ever seen and are very much sought after.

This £1 note dated 1st Sept 1887 is lot 271 in our 18th February 2015 sale, estimated at £2,400.
