Warwick & Warwick 2nd September Stamp Auction News

25th August 2015

Commonwealth collectors will find much to interest them in our September auction. The section starts with an Ascension Island collection of King George V & VI in 40 lots. Most are KGV Badge varieties including numerous mast, flag & rock errors.

This is followed by a substantial Bahamas section in 80 lots which features items from the Len Mason collection. Included are pre-stamp covers, Queen Victoria Chalon Heads in spectacular and rarely seen blocks, as well as King George VI specialised collections and items. There is a particularly fine study of the 1942 Landfall issue, and much else.

The foreign section features a Chinese 1965-7 used collection with better items, a substantial Japanese collection from early classics, in 3 Lighthouse albums and an early used/unused USA range.

The Great Britain section has a wealth of very good collections and single items. The catalogue has illustrations of 13 Queen Victoria £1’s, 4 £5’s and 3 King George V PUC £1’s. A collection of 29 1d blacks in a single lot will undoubtedly attract much interest.

As the auction nears its conclusion, there is a very good Great Britain Officials used collection. There is also an Inland Revenue 10s. unused with BPA certificate.
