1902 Bolton & District Humane Society Silver Medal in 16th August Medal Auction

A rare Bolton and District Humane Society Silver Medal in its case of issue awarded to Frank Smith is offered in our 16th August 2017 medal and militaria auction with an estimate of £650.

The Bolton Evening News dated 16th September 1902 reported:

“The Royal Humane Society’s hon testimonial inscribed on vellum, and the Bolton Society’s silver medal and certificate to Frank Smith, for having at great personal risk rescued Mary Walsh from drowning in a reservoir at Dunscar.”

 

 

The Medal Yearbook No L33A states approximately 19 silver medals issued in total and valued Rare.
