Collection of British Guiana early stamps - but not that one!

Considered to have issued some of the rarest and most sought after stamps, British Guiana has a special place in all keen philatelists\' hearts. In 2014 the only surviving example of the 1856 1c magenta, considered to be the rarest stamp in the world was sold for $9.5m.

Unfortunately we can’t offer one of those, but our June stamp auction does include a superb collection of early issues broken into 26 lots.

1852 1c with Demerara cds.

Ship issues incl 1853-9 1c vermillion.

1853-5 4c blue.

1899 2c on 15c with double surcharge.
