Royal Mint Trial Coins to be offered in our 17th April 2019 auction.

An unusual range of Royal Mint trial coins are to be offered in our 17th April 2019 auction.

Trial coins are issued by the Royal Mint for testing in vending machines, shops and banks prior to the release of a new coin.

Offered in this sale are the following lots:-

Lot 508 - 1981 9 sided 25p Royal Mint Trial coin (no value), Royal Mint Trial around central orb/Experimental Coin 1981 around Royal Mint Arms, nearly uncirculated in presentation box, scarce. Estimate £200

 

Lot 509 - Royal Mint Trial 18mm bronze coin, undated no value (2 cents Euro pattern), uniface Royal Mint Arms, crown above, Tower of London to left, rose to right, Royal Mint in scroll below, nearly uncirculated in plastic case, scarce. Estimate £50

 

Lot 512 - 2015 £1 Royal Mint Trial Piece extremely fine. Estimate £40
