Happy New Year! Welcome to 2026. A new year means a new set of auctions coming over the next 12 months. Our stamp sale started off the year back on the 14th, but now it is time for the first Toys, Postcards and Cigarette card sale of 2026. Taking place yesterday, a whole range of unique and interesting items were once again sold, and today we will be highlighting a few of them, so let's begin.

Lot 50 – 1926 Perils of Early Golf
Starting with our Cigarette card section, lot 50 brings a rare complete set from the Imperial Tobacco Company of Canada, 1926’s Perils of Early Golf! Showing the times as I’m sure we all learnt about in History class, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and hunted Scottish golfers, till this day, the natural prey of the dinosaur. Seeing as the set was in great condition, it was hardly a surprise to see this item do well, with the lot ultimately reaching a hammer price of £300!

Lot 139 – Street Scenes
Now moving swiftly on to our Postcard section, lot 139 brings a fantastic range of interesting street scenes from around the United Kingdom, including places like Birmingham, the Isle of Man and Worcester. Seeing how people from long ago lived their lives and it being immortalised in a photograph has always been an interest of mine, especially when it’s in my hometown of Warwick, so I’m sure any collector would have been itching for this lot, which was sold for a price of £260.

Lot 243 – AT-AT
I don’t know a Star Wars pun for January, but when May arrives, it will write itself. What is no laughing matter is the appeal of this playset from Hasbro’s Vintage Collection, the AT-AT walkers roamed the icy fields of Hoth in the second film, but now they can roam your coffee tables and collectors' cabinets! Based on the original Kenner sets of the 1980s, this lot sold for a hammer price of £330.

Lot 345 – Corgi Chipperfield’s set
The circus is in town with lot 345, featuring both the Chipperfield’s crane truck and cage gift set. This retro collectables pair are highly sought after and proved to be popular at yesterday's auction, realising a price of £260.

Lot 398 – Bassett Lowke – Special Limited Release
All aboard for our final item with lot 398! This O Gauge Stanier Mogul class is built and painted to a standard which can only be obtained from Bassett-Lowke, a special item for any railway enthusiast to either be put on display or placed upon their own model railway. This item sold for a hammer price of £300. Thank you for reading and watching our January 21st toys, postcards and cigarette cards auction. We had some incredible lots in this sale, and we hope to have some more down the line.
