Warwick and Warwick Model Railway Auction Report 15th May 2019

17th May 2019

Our third Model Railway auction of the year was well attended with customers queuing up at the door to our viewing rooms. There were 360 lots for keen bidders to chose from.

We began with the live steam section. The highlight of the section was this Roundhouse O gauge kit built green 0-6-0T tank locomotive which realised £480.

Moving on to the O gauge section this Bassett-Lowke clockwork CR blue 112 Class S14 0-4-0T locomotive achieved £216.

This Exley unboxed electric SR green 3070 driving coach sold for £240.

And this kit built LNER 2500 green ‘Claude Hamilton’ 4-4-0 locomotive and tender realised £240.

In the OO gauge section this Bachmann 21 DCC BR green Class 411 4-Car DMU set No. 31425A sold for a respectable £108, proving that modern model railway is just as popular as the more classic items.

A highlight of the section was this rare Hornby Dublo clockwork set. Despite missing several pieces and being in mixed condition it achieve a whopping £1,050, well above estimate!

In the Wrenn section highlights included this LMS black 6102 ‘Black Watch’ 4-6-0 locomotive and tender realised £168.

And this LNER 4468 ‘Mallard’ class A4 4-6-2 locomotive and tender sold for £168.
