Warwick and Warwick Model Railway Auction Report 17th March 2021

The current COVID-19 heath crisis has led many companies to change their practices to bring them into line with the current government safety guidelines. So, for the safety of our customers and our staff, our 17th March 2021 Model Railway sale was a closed-door auction, with no room bidders allowed.

There was a great deal of interest in the auction with many bidders placing book bids and over 50 bidders on the telephone during in the sale.

  

                                   

Starting with the live steam section highlights included this Aristocraft gauge 1 US Switcher 0-4-0 locomotive and tender which realised £396. This Maxwell Hemmens ‘The Caton’ twin 3/8-inch marine engine sold for £492 and this Regner gauge 1 or O (changeable) Konrad 0-4-0T locomotive achieved £360.

  

Highlights of the O gauge section this auction included this Hornby LMS 1185 No. 2 Compound 4-4-0 locomotive and tender which realised £144 and this Marklin 20v black E.13041 4-4-0 locomotive and tender sold for £300.       

  

                                                             

Moving on to the OO gauge section this Bachmann DCC Fitted Midland Pullman Class 251 Nanking 6-car DMU achieved £276. This Hornby Digital Venice Simplon-Orient-Express set realised £240 and this Kernow pair of Adams O2 0-4-4T locomotives sold for £252.

    

                                          

There was an excellent selection of Wrenn locomotives offered in this sale including this BR 35026 ‘Lamport and Holt’ Streamline Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 locomotive and tender which achieved £444. This BR 34051 ‘Winston Churchill’ 4-6-2 locomotive and tender realised £312 and this BR 34092 ‘City of Wells’ locomotive and tender realised £300.
