Warwick and Warwick Die Cast, Model Soldiers and Toys Auction Report 15th July 2020

29th July 2020

The current COVID-19 heath crisis has led many companies to change their practices to bring them into line with the current government safety guidelines. So, for the safety of our customers and our staff, our 15th July 2020 Die Cast, Model Soldiers and Toys sale was a closed-door auction, with no room bidders allowed.

Differing from our last auction slightly however, we were able to offer viewing of the sale on the Friday, Monday and Tuesday before the auction, on a strictly by appointment only basis. Unfortunately, we are still unable to welcome the public to view on the morning of the sale.

There was a great deal of interest in the auction with many bidders placing book bids and over 50 bidders on the telephone during in the sale.

There was a lovely selection of Britains Racing Colours of Famous Owners offered in this auction.

Examples included this Mr P. T. Beasley Canadian 1948 issue which realised £360.

This Lord Latimer issue sold for £192 and this Mrs J. de Selincourt achieved £168.

There were a number of interesting model figures offered as well including this Charbens London Midland and Scottish Railway Wagon which realised £96.

This Matchbox Moko Lesney Horse Drawn Rag and Bone Merchants Cart which sold for £168 and this Taylor and Barrett Road Sweeper Set which achieved £324.

In the die case section highlights included this Corgi James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 No. 261 which realised £102 and this Dinky pair of O gauge Passengers and Engineering Staff figure sets sold for £72.

There was a large section of Matchbox models cars offered in this auction too.

It included this Regular Wheels Vauxhall Cresta No. 22b which realised £144. This Cadillac Sixty Special No. 27c which sold for £144 and this Evening News Van No. 42a which achieved £168.
