Announcement on business continuing through the emergency

The current emergency is affecting all our lives and all business activity. We are committed to complying with all Government guidance as it evolves in response to scientific and medical advice. It is our aim at all times to protect our staff and all of our customers.

Generally auction houses are to close but the arrangements outline below have received approval.

In consequence we are making changes to our business practices as follows:

 Auctions

The stamp auction on 1st April will be held, however,

There will be no public viewing of the sale. This is to avoid breaching distancing advice but also to comply with regulations on unnecessary journeys.

There will be no public attendance at the sale. This is disappointing but a necessary step to avoid contact and unnecessary journeys.

Bids will only be accepted by post or by email. We are very grateful for the support of all our loyal customers and would urge all customers to place bids by:

post

or email (bids@warwickandwarwick.com)

or online through our website (www.warwickandwarwick.com)  as soon as possible.

Lots purchased can only be despatched by post or courier and cannot be collected in person. Again we have been advised forcefully by the police that collection of auction lots falls under the unnecessary travel provisions. Purchases must be paid for in the normal way but we are willing to store lots if requested until the situation changes. If private couriers are used they will have to attend by arrangement.

Realisations and lot despatch will not be available before the Friday after the sale.

We will advise further about forthcoming sales.

Collection of lots already purchased

Where lots have been purchased in previous sales and paid for they will be despatched by post or courier.

Again, lots cannot be collected in person from our premises. We have been advised by the police that attendance at our premises for that purpose would constitute an unnecessary journey.

Receiving properties for sale

Valuation days will be temporarily suspended. Clients are encouraged to discuss sale of material with members of staff but are asked to be patient if it is difficult to contact us by telephone. Initial contact by email giving contact details and a brief description of the property would be most helpful. Where appropriate we may arrange courier transport.

Collections of properties by Warwick & Warwick vans will be suspended. In some cases it may be that collection by courier will be possible. Our staff will discuss this with you.
